Michael Bullas and Genevieve Roland Smith
Michael Bullas was born in 1970 and was raised by his artist parents on the central coast of California. After a brief stint studying computer science at the University of California Santa Barbara, he hearkened back to a time when he told his incredulous parents "Study art? I don't want to be a starving artist." Alas, the pressures of calculus broke his firm resolve to escape from impending impoverishment and wrenched away his last hope of gaining precious career opportunities. And like that majestic salmon on the spawn to his home waters, Michael emerged from the University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with emphasis on oil painting. Currently based in Venice, CA, Michael's art is frequently shown up and down the West Coast. His pieces have ended up on media as diverse as CD covers, on-line magazines and an array of printed publications.
Genevieve's lifelong art career began when she enrolled in her first art classes at the age of four. Shortly after receiving a Bachelors of Arts in studio art from University of California Santa Barbara, she launched her art career with her first sold-out show, quickly establishing herself as an emerging fine artist, and talented decorative painter. Her personal art studio almost always has a work in progress on the easel. "My personal and my professional painting enhance one another," she notes.
Wine, coffee and refreshments will be served. Show runs until November 9th.
